SLAB!

'SLAB!' are five colleagues from the IT department of a Halifax concrete manufacturer.

Formed in 2022 from the ashes of lockdown and practising on a lunch hour, they’ve moved on to playing a mix of Rock, Pop, and classic songs that will definitely get you singing and grooving along.

SLAB! have played bars, parties, conferences, and even at the home of the English FA at St. Georges Park!

Band members are :-

  • (S) Scott – Guitar, Bass, Keys
  • (L) Liz – Drums, Vocals
  • (A) David – Guitar
  • (B) J.C. – Guitar, Vocals
  • (!) Jon – Lead Guitar, Bass

Anyone who comes to see this band automatically becomes a Slabette, so welcome, we can't wait to see you.

The Lady Gaskell Band

''The Lady Gaskell Band'' is a newly formed 4 piece rock/pop band playing high energy covers with a grungy edge. Listen out, and you might get to hear one of Lady Gaskell's original songs.

'Lady Gaskell' was, of course, the champion of Calderdale Prides Got Talent 2023 winning a slot on the Pride main stage last August. We can't wait to see what 'The Lady Gaskell Band' bring to our annual Queerfest fundraiser in June.

Davina Regina & The Flying Handbags

Davina Regina was the winner of Calderdale Pride's Got Talent 2022 and took to the main stage at Calderdale Pride in The Piece Hall.

They absolutely blew us away with amazing guitar skills and original / cover songs.

As an established solo performer, Davina has been entertaining for over 40 years and will be bringing band 'Davina Regina and the Flying Handbags' to the Pallet Bar stage, at Queerfest, on Saturday 15th June!

Wonkypuss

A huge crowd favourite returns from 2023’s event! It’s wonkypuss!

Tragicomic acoustic twee punk duo. A boisterous sometimes-sensitive-but-always scrappy mess. If you play things fast enough everything works out in the end!

Ball & Chayne

Ball & Chayne are a piano and cajon based duo enhanced by amazing female vocals.

Song covers range from Kate Bush, Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie, Amy Winehouse, Tine Turner and even stretch as far as Meat Loaf

Todd Wilson

And none other than Todd Wilson Music who has been entertaining his whole life but bringing this act to audiences for over ten years, entertaining all over the uk and even playing gigs on the continent.

This is Todd’s 3rd Queerfest! He performed on the main stage at Calderdale Pride 2023 and most recently guest judge for Calderdale Prides Got Talent!

He plays a wide range of music singing songs from a variety of decades. He loves bands like James, erasure and queen, as well as artists like Adele, Frank Sinatra, and Bruce Springsteen.

With Yorkshire patter and a crooked smile there’s sure to be something you can sing or dance along to.

Anthony-Max

Anthony-Max was born in Halifax and has been singing his whole life. Music is his favourite hobby, as he finds it a great way to express himself.

Anthony came out as bi 6 years ago and trans 5 years ago, and although his journey has been far from smooth, Anthony is incredibly proud of who he is and also incredibly proud of his community.

Anthony is also a Diversity Ambassador within the College he attends and loves using his voice to spread a message of Equality, Diversity, and inclusion for all - a subject Anthony feels incredibly passionate about.

This is Anthony’s 2nd appearance at Queerfest, but who can forget his passionate speech on Trans rights to open Calderdale Pride in 2023
